I had no idea where my head was at...
I've had an up and down couple of weeks. For those of you who still read my blog (...if anyone!?) and don't pay attention to Facebook, or enjoy longer explanations, I've dropped out of UniSA. I was doing Tourism & Event Management, got 3 weeks in and decided that I didn't want to do it anymore. Possibly because of an upcoming deadline, but nevertheless, have dropped that. My new Plan goes like this:
- do Certificate III in Business - I am currently doing this at the same business school that mum and my aunt went to (what a fine tradition :)
- go back to Adelaide next semester to get my Media degree - I only need to do one more semester to get one of the two degrees that I started (I started Media/ Arts). I'm fairly certain that studying isn't for me, especially at the moment, but I'd like to get a degree to show for all my HECS debt.
- get a job. A real job. This is clearly now for next year.
- save money.
- move to Europe (preferably Germany). Yeah, seriously. Adelaide is becoming less and less appealing - people changing, people moving away, people potentially moving away... I came to the realisation the other day that there are very few people who would miss me if I did leave for good. And if I can get a job elsewhere... why stay here?
- marry nice European (preferably German) man.
So that is my Plan. I'm not sure how well it will work, but that's it for now.
On Thursday I had lunch with Kim, which was nice (it was the first time we'd actually met, after reading blogs for years ;). It was a lovely day, and we went and sat on the grass in Light Square and ate food and picked grass. There are some bizarre rocks in Light Square. There are six of them, and they say 'if' 'is' and 'it' (I think) - two stones have the same word on them, and they're in a circle. We were going to sit in the circle, but the grass was wet, so we sat outside the circle. But it's just really odd. I'm sure that there's some wonderful meaning behind it all but I don't know what it is.
Another strange thing is that on Thursday I walked almost all the way home! Which according to Google Maps (clearly the most reliable source) is about 7km. Today I walked about 2/3rds of that distance because I was very hungry :P but today I walked through Rymill Park and it was such a lovely day (jeans = bad choice) so I cut through (rather than just walking on the footpath) and looked at the lake which looked pretty, and the grass was so green, and the sun was lovely, and then I continued on my journey, which took me past a curious statue. Of Alice. In Wonderland. Apparently it was erected in 1962 or something. Why is there a statue of Alice in Wonderland in the middle of the parklands?!?
I then walked through Victoria Park Racecourse (where there is still a lot of Clipsal stuff set up), and there is some exercise thing that you can do - chin ups, step ups, 'log' lifts (it looked like a large metal pole attached to chains so that young hooligans couldn't run off with it...), hurdles etc. And I never had ANY idea it was there. It's sort of crazy the stuff you find when you look. Or even when you don't look.
I think I had more things to say, but I don't remember what they were. So I guess they're probably not that important. I'll try to do better with updating more often, I haven't been doing so well lately, hey :P

I might have blogged this before. But I don't think I did.
So now you're running
it's hard to see clearly
When I make you angry
you're stuck in the past
And now you're screaming
So can you forgive me
I've treated you badly
But I am still here
Sometimes I wonder
Why I'm still waiting
Sometimes I'm shaking
that's how you make me
Sometimes I question why I'm still here
Sometimes I think I'm going crazy
Can you help me understand?
And now you wish that you meant something
And now you wish that you meant something to somebody else
And now you wish that you met someone
And now you wish that you meant something to somebody else
Something to somebody else
Something to somebody else
You look at me through clouded eyes
I know you see through my lies
See the sky, see the stars
All of this could be ours
Out of sight, out of mind
we've been through this a thousand times
Turn your back and then you make me feel so crazy
Can you help me understand?
And now you wish that you meant something
And now you wish that you meant something to somebody else
And now you wish that you met someone
And now you wish that you meant something to somebody else
You know I would wait for ever
Yes I would wait (I would wait)
You know I would wait forever
Yes I would wait
And now you wish that you meant something
And now you wish that you meant
Something to somebody else
And now you wish that you met someone
And now you wish that you meant something to somebody else
And I'm the one that should mean something
But still you wish that you meant something to somebody else
Something to somebody else
Something to somebody else
it's hard to see clearly
When I make you angry
you're stuck in the past
