"I'm not the sharpest bulb in the drawer... I mean... KNIFE in the drawer... bulbs can go in drawers, okay?!"

Whilst brainstorming ideas for costumes for Emma's 21st, and consequently googling them.. Simon and I found this photo.
It just raises so many questions.
Why is the baby?
Why is the baby in a lobster costume?
Why is the baby in a lobster costume IN A POT?

Here is a teaser of the post about Melbourne that is to come...
And the hilarity that ensued.

Sez: what are you thinking?
Simon: You won't belive me...you'll lean back and go 'you're lying" because it is THAT ridiculous.
Sez: try me
Simon: What if you had...like...a tiny pizza place in your mouth...and they kept making little pizzas and threw them down your throat when you're hungry??

MELBOURNE

I'm going to MELBOURNE tomorrow!!!!
I'm quite excited, though I still have to finish my last Linguistics assignment. Currently I'm almost halfway done... which of course is why I'm blogging.

We have had a lot of issues with our flights.
We were flying with Tiger Airlines.
Originally, we booked a 7.15am flight, so that we'd get a whole extra day in Melbourne.

Then, maybe last Thursday or so, we got an email saying nah, too bad, we're actually not going to fly you then, we're going to put you on a 3.25pm flight. So then we lost the extra day and were pissed off but got over it.

YESTERDAY, after 5pm, we got another email saying hey... actually... 8pm.

So we were pretty pissed off about that.

Moral of the story: no matter how cheap it is, DO NOT fly with Tiger Airlines. They will screw you over.

So we're cancelling with them, getting a refund, and now are flying with Virgin at 6am!!! TOMORROW!!!

:D

It will be so good.
See you all when I get back!

And we'll march along with our blindfolds on

That line's from my current fave Billy Talent song, Worker Bees. That said, I have about 239502957 favourites, so you know. (...don't worry, they only have two albums. They're just full of really good songs.)

So I have several things to blog about...
a) Uni
b) MELBOURNE
c) general photos
d) dinner
e) BAGSASSINS.

a) Uni:
Today my group (consisting of Simon, Charlotte, and me) submitted our wiki wiki wiki wicked wiki. It actually wasn't that good, but I don't think it was that bad either. There were several technical difficulties, but it does mean that now I am DONE for 1/3 of my subjects (Global Media), so that's exciting! I still have 2 x 40% assignments left; Media Research Methods (group assignment due Friday), and Mass Communicative Discourses (Linguistics - due the following Wednesday.) Then....

b) MELBOURNE
WE'RE GOING TO MELBOURNE! On the Rogers kids' pronto tonto trip to Melboune(TM) (or RKPTTTMTM, if you will). Pretty exciting. :D We have lists and lists and websites and things to do and see, but if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to suggest them!

The other Rogers kid. No. We're not related.c) general photos.
Last Wednesday Joey was doing his thing on the lawns (it meant we got to see Astrid!! :D)
And Thursday we had a semi Melbourne planning sesh... it involved photos.
Pure secks?
Pretty trees and sky :)
Roses :)
d) dinner
Last night, my family wasn't home. (They went to the beach. Well, my parents did, my brother was off rowing at Mannum). Therefore I had to fend for myself, and make myself dinner. Usually this results in baked beans or similar, but seeing as last night I was procrastinating, and felt like cooking, I decided to actually cook something. So I made something up.

First, I peeled and chopped up potatoes and a carrot, and boiled them.
Next, I got some broccoli, peas, and corn...
And added them to the mix.
Eventually I added some pasta too. And see, it really was me cooking!
I drained it all, then put it in a pan and stirred through some honey soy marinade.
YUM! And there was enough for lunch today too!

It turned out surprisingly well, considering I had no idea what I was doing, was making it up as I went along, and had to google how to boil potatoes before I started! (I'm not that dumb, I just needed to know whether you needed to add them after the water was already boiling, or bring the water to the boil with the potatoes in there. It's the latter, in case anyone was wondering. Though it apparently doesn't matter. I don't think it would really.)

e) BAGSASSINS
This is not, whatever you may think, about any Lord of the Rings characters. It is about a very real threat to our existence. On Wednesday evening, Simon and I were chilling on the lawns, minding our own business. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a plastic sandwich bag blew towards us! It hit me, and then kept going on it's windy path. We assumed (as one would) that this was the end of this bag.

But it was not to be.

The bag circled around, hit Simon, then came back and attacked me again! It got entangled in my glasses, which I was waving around for some reason, and it took seconds to disengage this BAGSASSIN. Eventually, however, we sent it on its merry way, never thinking that it would try anything again.

We were wrong again.

It did a wide sweep of the lawns, then came back, sneaking up on us ever so slowly.

Luckily it missed its mark this time around, and ended up near the bin.

Equally as luckily, Simon is a brave, brave man. (Note that this was the first time I'd used my new camera to record, hence the comments at the start).

We thought that this was the end.

But how wrong we were.

On the afore-mentioned semi Melbourne planning trip to emo park, there was a McDonald's paper bag lying nearby. We had all but forgotten about the previous days' adventures, so thought nothing of it. Little did we know, it was a spy. We'd clearly killed the first scout sent by the bagsassins on the Wednesday, now here was another one, disguised as a happy McDonald's bag!

See how far away it was? It was spying on us that whole time... no doubt relaying our entire conversation back to bagsassin HQ...
Then, with no warning, just as we were about to leave, it launched itself at me, and almost got me! But it missed. Just. We left hurredly, lest it try again.

Since then, there have been no further attempts on my life by these brutal bags, but I think that it is time once again to put PAIOC on red alert, sound the alarms, tell everyone of this new threat to our society!

BEWARE THE BAGSASSINS.
